New Zealand-based education consultancy, Skills International, announced today (September 7) that it has opened its Hong Kong office as part of its expansion plans to enhance its presence in Asia.

Skills International offers a wide range of workforce development and vocational education consultancy services as well as education management services. It has built programmes alongside government agencies, training providers and key industry players around the world, from the Asia Pacific region to Africa and North America, often navigating complex environments to find tailor-made solutions for its clients for over 14 years, according to its General Manager, Ms Bridget Dennis.

Ms Dennis said, "Opening an office in Hong Kong was a clear next step for our organisation because our consulting services in vocational education for countries in the wider Asia region has grown exponentially. We will be able to work side by side with our clients in the region to deliver skilled and future-proofed workers, ensuring the long-term development and growth for their sector or their business."

The company's Regional Development Manager Asia, Mr Jim So, said, "We have already had wide-ranging interest from government bodies and organisations that run apprenticeship or blended learning programmes and want to work with Skills International. The fact that we now have a permanent presence based in Hong Kong and are able to add even more value is really exciting."

Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion, Dr Jimmy Chiang, said, "Hong Kong as a well-established international commercial and financial centre is a key market for the education consulting business. Together with its strategic location at the heart of Asia, the city is the ideal place for professional services companies, such as Skills International, to serve clients both locally and regionally. We wish Skills International and its clients every success in their business in Hong Kong and beyond."
