Murder and attempted suicide in Kwai Chung

At 3.23am today, Police received a report that a man was suspected to be strangled by his mother inside a unit in Ying Kwai House, Kwai Chung Estate.
Police officers sped to the scene and found the 21-year-old man lying unconsciously on the floor. Sustaining injuries to his neck, he was certified dead at scene.
After initial investigation, Police arrested the 46-year-old woman for murder. Sustaining injuries to her hands, the woman was suspected to have attempted suicide and was sent to Yan Chai Hospital in conscious state. She is being detained for enquiries.
A plastic table cloth in suspected connection with the case was seized at scene. Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death.
Active investigation by the District Crime Squad of Kwai Tsing is underway.
