The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     As at 9am today (August 12), 132 COVID-19 confirmed patients were discharged from hospital in the last 24 hours. The Hospital Authority (HA) verified the patient discharge statistics again today and adjusted the total discharge number to 3 189 patients with confirmed or probable infection. The patient (case number: 3406) included in the discharge list earlier is still in hospital.

     At present, there are 683 negative pressure rooms in public hospitals with 1 245 negative pressure beds activated. A total of 903 confirmed patients are currently hospitalised in 19 public hospitals, a community isolation facility and a community treatment facility, among which 30 patients are in critical condition, 55 are in serious condition and the remaining 818 patients are in stable condition.

     The HA will maintain close contact with the Centre for Health Protection to monitor the latest developments and to inform the public and healthcare workers on the latest information in a timely manner.
