Fatal traffic accident in Ta Kwu Ling

At 7.27am, a bicycle rode by the 67-year-old man and a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 62-year-old man were travelling side by side along Ping Che Road towards Sha Tau Kok. When approaching near 188 Ping Che Road, the two cars reportedly collided.
Sustaining serious head injury, the 67-year-old cyclist was rushed to North District Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 8.14am.
The PLB driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
