Fatal traffic accident in Tsuen Wan

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsuen Wan last night (July 3) in which a 42-year-old man died.

     At 9.56pm yesterday, a taxi driven by a 31-year-old man was travelling along Tuen Mun Road towards Tuen Mun. When approaching Sham Tseng, it reportedly lost control and rammed into the barriers.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the 42-year-old male passenger was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 11.41pm yesterday. A 43-year-old female passenger was injured and sent to Yan Chai Hospital in conscious state.

     The taxi driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in late July.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.
