Fatal traffic accident in Kwai Chung

At 3.47pm, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 72-year-old man was travelling along Hing Fong Road towards Tsuen Wan. While turning left to Kwai Hing Road, it reportedly knocked down the 67-year-old man who was crossing the road.
The man was trapped under the PLB and was rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious injuries, the man was rushed to Yan Chai Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 4.31pm.
The PLB driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.
