Applications for subsidy schemes for commercial bathhouse and places of public entertainment licence holders to start on April 27
******************************************************************************************
The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) today (April 24) announced that applications for the subsidy schemes for commercial bathhouse licence holders and places of public entertainment licence holders under the second round of the Anti-epidemic Fund will start next Monday (April 27).

An FEHD spokesman said, "Commercial bathhouses and places of public entertainment are affected by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemics and required to be closed under the directions issued under the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (the Regulation) (Cap. 599F). The schemes aim to provide immediate financial relief to the relevant licence holders whose businesses have been hard-hit by the epidemics and social distancing measures imposed by the Government."

The Commercial Bathhouse Subsidy Scheme will provide a one-off subsidy of $100,000 to each eligible licence holder of a commercial bathhouse. The Places of Public Entertainment Licence (PPEL) Holder Subsidy Scheme will provide a one-off subsidy of $100,000 for each eligible holder of a PPEL (excluding cinema operators eligible under the Cinemas Subsidy Scheme) and $20,000 for each eligible holder of a temporary PPEL (TPPEL).

Eligible licence holders should submit their applications in person or by mail. The deadline for application is May 27. The target is that upon receipt of the completed application form and supporting documents and after verification, the disbursement of subsidies could generally be made in approximately two weeks by crossed cheques to the corresponding licenced premises or the correspondence address indicated by holders for TPPEL.

The application form and guidelines can be downloaded from the website of the FEHD (www.fehd.gov.hk) or be obtained from District Environmental Hygiene Offices of the FEHD starting from next Monday (April 27). For details, please visit the website of the FEHD.
