Labour Department to hold occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "First aid in the workplace" on January 13 (Monday) at 3pm. The talk will cover basic knowledge of first aid and explain how to assist and handle injured employees in workplace accidents through case illustrations. It will be given by the LD's occupational health nurse in the Lecture Hall, Hong Kong Space Museum, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.

    The LD will hold another talk entitled "Manual handling operations and prevention of back injuries" on January 16 (Thursday) at 6.30pm. Given by the LD's occupational health nurse and occupational hygienist, the talk will provide a brief account of the structure and functions of the back, causes and preventive measures of back injuries, and proper manual handling operations. A demonstration and practice of workplace exercise will be included. It will be held in Activity Room 1, G/F, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay.

     Both talks will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free. For enquiries or registration, please call 2852 4040.
