Establishment of Civil Service Training Advisory Board

     The Civil Service Bureau announced today (October 25) the establishment of the Civil Service Training Advisory Board to give guidance on training programmes for the civil service and its long-term development strategy, and to prepare for the development of the new civil service college.

     The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Joshua Law, said, "In her 2018 Policy Address, the Chief Executive announced the setting up of a civil service training advisory board. We hope that members of the advisory board from different backgrounds will provide their professional views to help further enhance training for civil servants in areas including leadership, interactive communication with the public, use of innovation and technology, national development and international affairs.

     "Before the establishment of the civil service college, we will continue to enhance training for civil servants to meet the needs of society."

     The Chairman and members of the Civil Service Training Advisory Board are appointed by the Chief Executive, and comprise academics, human resource management experts, professionals with rich experience in public administration and others. The appointment will be for a term of three years, from November 1, 2019, to October 31, 2022.
