Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected liquid cocaine and suspected methamphetamine (with photos)

     Hong Kong Customs yesterday (October 22) seized about 11 kilograms of suspected liquid cocaine and about 9 grams of suspected methamphetamine with a total estimated market value of about $11.6 million at Hong Kong International Airport.

     During Customs clearance on a male passenger arrived in Hong Kong from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia yesterday, five liquor bottles containing suspected liquid cocaine and two packets of suspected methamphetamine were found inside his suitcase. The man was then arrested.

     The arrested man, aged 30, has been charged with two counts of trafficking in a dangerous drug. He will appear at West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (October 24).

     Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of $5 million and life imprisonment.
