Murder and attempted suicide in Tin Shui Wai

At about 6.30am, Police received a report that a woman was standing dangerously on the window edge of a unit in Heng Kin House, Tin Heng Estate. Police sped to the scene and located the 51-year-old woman. She was sent to Tin Shui Wai Hospital in conscious state, and then transferred to Tuen Mun hospital.
Police also located her 16-year-old daughter lying unconsciously inside a room of the unit. Sustaining injuries to her hand, she was certified dead at scene.
Initial investigation revealed that the girl had been administered some pills and was attacked by her mother with knife. The 51-year-old woman attempted to commit suicide afterwards. She has been arrested for murder and is being detained for further enquiries.
Some pills, a knife and some bed sheets in suspected connection with the case were found inside the unit.
Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.
Investigation by the District Crime Squad of Yuen Long District is underway.
