Updated traffic and public transport situation
**********************************************

The Transport Department (TD) today (October 5) reminded members of the public to pay attention to the traffic situation and the latest public transport service arrangement this morning before starting their journey.

As at 5.45am today, the latest public transport situation is as follows:

(I) MTR

All train services including heavy rails, Airport Express Line, Light Rail and MTR Bus services are suspended this morning.

(II) Franchised bus

All franchised bus services will provide service this morning but some routes may be temporarily diverted subject to the road conditions.

 (III) Ferry

     Ferry services remain normal.

Meanwhile, over 100 sets of traffic lights have been damaged or tampered with last night. They are located mainly in Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, Tsuen Wan and Yau Tsim Mong Districts.  The concerned departments are actively following up on the repair works.

As some of the traffic lights have yet to resume normal operation, motorists are advised to drive with utmost care and patience when passing through these junctions, pay extra attention to the traffic signs, particularly the safety of pedestrians crossing the roads.

Pedestrians are advised to use crossing aids nearby such as footbridges and pedestrian subways for crossing the roads. They should pay attention to vehicles when crossing junctions with damaged traffic lights.

The TD is closely monitoring the traffic conditions and is committed to maintain normal operation of traffic facilities.

Members of the public are advised to stay alert to the latest traffic news and allow more time for travel. For details of the above public transport arrangements, members of the public can visit the TD's website or get the information through the TD's mobile application "HKeMobility".
