Police seize large amount of dangerous goods and offensive weapons (with photos)

     Police mounted an operation on September 30 and October 1 in various districts, raiding a number of premises in suspected connection with the manufacturing of petrol bombs and explosives. A large number of offensive weapons, raw materials of dangerous goods and protective gear suspected to be related to the recent protests were seized. Police will not tolerate any violent behavior for any purpose and strongly condemn the escalating means of violence.
      
     Acting on intelligence and after in-depth investigation, officers have raided 48 premises in various locations in Hong Kong since yesterday (September 30) and arrested 44 men and seven women, aged from 15 to 44, for offences including possession of offensive weapon, unlawful assembly, possession of dangerous goods  and possession of instrument fit for unlawful purposes.
      
     During the operation, officers seized suspected dangerous goods such as Naphtha, thinner, glass bottles, chemical powder, lighter gas and firecrackers. Officers also seized various kinds of offensive weapons, such as folding knives, slingshots, steel beads, extendable poles, hiking poles and a large amount of protective gear. All arrested persons are being detained for further enquiries.
      
     Police reiterate that manufacturing or storing dangerous goods in premises is very dangerous and irresponsible as it poses a serious threat to residents nearby and public safety.
