Government condemns violent attack

     A Government spokesman strongly condemned the attack on Legislative Councillor Mr Kwong Chun-yu, who sustained injuries after a suspected planned attack today (September 24). The Police will follow up seriously in order to bring those responsible to justice.
 
     The spokesman stressed that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government is fair in the face of all illegal and violent acts. The Police will strictly enforce the law to protect the safety of the people. Pointing out that Hong Kong has all along been a pluralistic and inclusive society as well as one of the safest cities in the world, the spokesman appealed to members of the public to express their views in a peaceful and rational manner and respect each other.
