Jazz concert to be held at Hong Kong Park's Olympic Square this Sunday

     Four local and overseas jazz groups will perform in the "2019 Hong Kong International Jazz Festival - Outdoor Concert" at the Olympic Square in Hong Kong Park this Sunday (September 22) from 2.30pm to 6.30pm, offering an afternoon of enjoyable free performances for the public.

     The jazz groups and musicians taking part in the programme include SJZ Collective from the United States; Az Samad Trio from Malaysia; Anne Evenou Quartet comprising artists from France, the US, Canada and Portugal; and the locally based Shaolin Fez.

     SJZ Collective is composed of jazz musicians including saxophonist Oscar Pangilinan, bassist Saul Sierra, drummer Wally Schnalle, guitarist Hristo Vitchev and trumpet player John L. Worley, Jr.
 
     Malaysian guitarist Az Samad is noted for his funky fingerstyle. He will present mesmerising jazz with saxophonist Adil Johan and bassist Kevin Theseira in the concert.

     Anne Evenou is a versatile jazz singer and has a wide repertoire including soul, rhythm and blues, bossa and samba, and French chansons. She will team up with pianist Bob Mocarsky, bassist Sylvain Gagnon and drummer Carlos Viera to give a quality performance.

     One of the largest original bands in Hong Kong, Shaolin Fez has been featured at many music festivals including Clockenflap. The band will draw on its world of jazz music to delight the audience.
