Treasure Construction Engineering Limited was fined $110,000 at Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts today (September 16) for violation of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance and the Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations. The prosecutions were launched by the Labour Department.

     The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on January 12, 2019, at a building construction site at Stonecutters Island. While a worker was carrying out concrete column remedial work on the second floor, he fell through a floor opening to the ground floor. He sustained severe bodily injuries and passed away on the same day.
