Body found case in Castle Peak reclassified as murder

     Police today (September 13) reclassified a body found case in Castle Peak on September 10 as murder.

     About 11.15am on September 10, Police received a report from a 45-year-old woman that her younger sister collapsed in a unit in Ting Tak House, On Ting Estate.

     Police officers sped to the scene and found the 42-year-old woman lying unconsciously on bed. Sustaining injuries to her neck, the woman was certified dead at scene. Officers later found the woman’s 56-year-old boyfriend lying inside the unit. The man was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state and later regained consciousness.

     Upon investigation, Police believed that the deceased was attacked by the 56-year-old man and her nose and mouth had been covered by plastic tape. The 56-year-old man was arrested for murder this afternoon and is being detained for further enquiries.

     Post-mortem examinations on the deceased cannot ascertain the cause of her death. Further toxicological examinations will be arranged.

     Active investigation by the District Crime Squad of Tuen Mun is underway.
