Government condemns offenders' violent and vandalistic acts
***********************************************************

In response to the violent and vandalistic acts of radical protesters in the vicinity of Prince Edward, Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei yesterday (September 6), a Government spokesman said the following:

Some radical protesters had been assembling in the vicinity of Prince Edward, Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei since yesterday afternoon, where they attacked the police station, extensively vandalised public property and MTR stations, and set fires at various places, totally disregarding law and order. The behaviours are outrageous. The offenders breached the public peace and their acts seriously affected public services, disregarding the needs and rights of other members of the public. Also it is extremely dangerous to set fires in busy areas, jeopardising people's safety. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government severely condemns the offenders’ violent and vandalistic acts. The Police will take resolute enforcement actions to protect the safety and rights of the members of the public.
