Fatal traffic accident in Tai Po

At about 3.58am, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 56-year-old man was travelling along Tolo Highway towards Fanling. When approaching Kwong Fuk Estate, it reportedly knocked down the 33-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
The woman was trapped under the LGV and was rescued by firemen. Sustaining multiple injuries, she was certified dead at scene.
The LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
