Special traffic arrangements in Kowloon

The following special traffic arrangements will be implemented in phases:
Phase I(A) (From 1.30am to 11.30am)

A. Road closure
1. Eastbound Kai Fuk Road flyover between Wai Yip Street and Kwun Tong Road flyover.
B. Traffic diversions
1. Traffic along eastbound Kai Fuk Road heading to eastbound Kwun Tong Road will be diverted to the ramp of eastbound Kai Fuk Road leading to eastbound Wai Yip Street, eastbound Wai Yip Street, northbound Lai Yip Street and eastbound Kwun Tong Road.
Phase I(B) (From 1.30am to 12 noon)

A. Road closure
1. Kwun Tong Bypass (Lei Yue Mun bound) between its ramp leading to westbound Prince Edward Road East and its ramp leaving from northbound Wai Fat Road;
2. The ramp of eastbound Prince Edward Road East leading to Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound);
3. The ramp of eastbound Prince Edward Road East leading to Kwun Tong Bypass (Lei Yue Mun bound);
4. The ramp of eastbound Kai Fuk Road leading to Kwun Tong Bypass (Lei Yue Mun bound);
5. The ramp of southbound Wang Chiu Road leading to Kwun Tong Bypass (Lei Yue Mun bound); and
6. The ramp of Kwun Tong Bypass (Lei Yue Mun bound) leading to Wai Yip Street.
B. Traffic diversions
1. Traffic along Kwun Tong Bypass (Lei Yue Mun bound) heading to northbound Tseung Kwan O Road or eastbound Lei Yue Mun Road will be diverted to eastbound Prince Edward Road East, eastbound Kwun Tong Road, eastbound Wai Yip Street and northbound Wai Fat Road;
2. Traffic along on eastbound Prince Edward Road East heading to northbound Tseung Kwan O Road or eastbound Lei Yue Mun Road via Kwun Tong Bypass will be diverted to eastbound Prince Edward Road East, eastbound Kwun Tong Road, eastbound Wai Yip Street and northbound Wai Fat Road;
3. Traffic along eastbound Prince Edward Road East heading to Tate’s Cairn Tunnel via Kwun Tong Bypass will be diverted to eastbound Prince Edward Road East, westbound Lung Cheung Road and the ramp of Hammer Hill Road leading to Tate’s Cairn Tunnel;
4. Traffic along eastbound Kai Fuk Road heading to northbound Tseung Kwan O Road or eastbound Lei Yue Mun Road via Kwun Tong Bypass will be diverted to eastbound Kai Fuk Road, eastbound Kai Fuk Road flyover, eastbound Wai Yip Street and northbound Wai Fat Road; and
5. Traffic along southbound Wang Chiu Road heading to northbound Tseung Kwan O Road or eastbound Lei Yue Mun Road via Kwun Tong Bypass will be diverted to eastbound Sheung Yee Road, eastbound Sheung Yee Road flyover, eastbound Ngau Tau Kok Road, southbound Elegance Road, eastbound Kwun Tong Road and eastbound Lei Yue Mun Road.

Traffic along westbound Kwun Tong Road heading to To Kwa Wan Road via Kai Tak Tunnel will be diverted to Kwun Tong Road westbound, westbound Prince Edward Road East, southbound Ma Tau Chung Road, eastbound Mok Cheong Street and southbound To Kwa Wan Road or diverted to westbound Kwun Tong Road, westbound Prince Edward Road East, Olympic Garden roundabout, southbound Ma Tau Chung Road, eastbound Hang Wan Road, southbound Olympic Avenue, eastbound Sung Wong Toi Road and southbound To Kwa Wan Road;

Traffic along Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound) heading to eastbound Kai Cheung Road via Kai Fuk Road will be diverted to Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound), westbound Prince Edward Road East, eastbound Concorde Road, southbound Shing Kai Road, eastbound Muk Chui Street, southbound Wang Kwong Road and eastbound Kai Cheung Road;
11. Traffic along Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound) heading to To Kwa Wan Road via Kai Tak Tunnel will be diverted to Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound), westbound Prince Edward Road East, southbound Ma Tau Chung Road, eastbound Mok Cheong Street and southbound To Kwa Wan Road or diverted to Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound), westbound Prince Edward Road East, Olympic Garden roundabout, southbound Ma Tau Chung Road, eastbound Hang Wan Road, southbound Olympic Avenue, eastbound Sung Wong Toi Road and southbound To Kwa Wan Road;
12. Traffic along Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound) heading to southbound Chatham Road North via Kai Tak Tunnel will be diverted to Kwun Tong Bypass (Sha Tin bound), westbound Prince Edward Road East, southbound Ma Tau Chung Road, southbound Ma Tau Wai Road and southbound Chatham Road North;
13. Traffic along westbound Kai Cheung Road heading to To Kwa Wan Road via Kai Tak Tunnel will be diverted to westbound Kai Cheung Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road, northbound Kai Shing Street, westbound Shing Kai Road, southbound Sung Wong Toi Road and southbound To Kwa Wan Road; and
14. Traffic along westbound Kai Cheung Road heading to southbound Chatham Road North via Kai Tak Tunnel will be diverted to westbound Kai Cheung Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road, westbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kwun Tong Road, westbound Prince Edward Road East, southbound Ma Tau Chung Road, southbound Ma Tau Wai Road and southbound Chatham Road North.

Traffic along southbound To Kwa Wan Road or westbound San Ma Tau Street heading to southbound Chatham Road North via East Kowloon Way will be diverted to southbound To Kwa Wan Road, southbound Ma Tau Wai Road, southbound Gillies Avenue North, westbound Hok Yuen Street and southbound Chatham Road North; and
2. Traffic along northbound To Kwa Wan Road heading to southbound Chatham Road North via East Kowloon Way will be diverted to northbound To Kwa Wan Road, eastbound San Ma Tau Street, westbound San Ma Tau Street, southbound To Kwa Wan Road, southbound Ma Tau Wai Road, southbound Gillies Avenue North, westbound Hok Yuen Street and southbound Chatham Road North.
Phase II(C) (From 3am to 1pm)

B. Traffic diversions
1. Traffic along northbound Wai Yip Street heading to westbound Sheung Yee Road will be diverted to northbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kai Cheung Road and southbound Wang Chiu Road;
2. Traffic along eastbound Sheung Yee Road near Wang Chiu Road and northbound Wang Chiu Road heading to northbound Wai Yip Street or Choi Hung Interchange will be diverted to northbound Wang Chiu Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road and northbound Wai Yip Street;
3. Traffic along eastbound Sheung Yee Road near Wang Chiu Road and northbound Wang Chiu Road heading to Telford Gardens will be diverted to northbound Wang Chiu Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road, flyover and southbound Wai Yip Street;
4. Traffic along southbound Wang Chiu Road heading to northbound Wai Yip Street or Choi Hung Interchange will be diverted to eastbound Sheung Yee Road, northbound Wang Hoi Road, westbound Lam Hing Street, northbound Wang Kwong Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road and northbound Wai Yip Street;

10. Traffic along northbound Wai Yip Street heading to southbound Wang Hoi Road will be diverted to northbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kai Cheung Road, southbound Wang Chiu Road, eastbound Sheung Yee Road and northbound Wang Hoi Road;
11. Traffic along eastbound Sheung Yuet Road or eastbound Sheung Yee Road near Wai Yip Street heading to northbound Wai Yip Street or Choi Hung Interchange will be diverted to northbound Wang Hoi Road, westbound Lam Hing Street, northbound Wang Kwong Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road and northbound Wai Yip Street;
12. Traffic along eastbound Sheung Yuet Road or eastbound Sheung Yee Road near Wai Yip Street heading to Telford Garden will be diverted to northbound Wang Hoi Road, westbound Lam Hing Street, northbound Wang Kwong Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road, flyover and southbound Wai Yip Street; and
13. Traffic along southbound Wai Yip Street heading to Siu Yip Street or Tai Yip Street will be diverted to southbound Wai Yip Street, eastbound Tai Yip Street and northbound Tai Yip Street.
C. Temporary speed limit
Southbound Wai Yip Street from its junction with Siu Yip Street to a point about 300 metres south of the same junction will be temporarily decreased from 70 kilometres to 50 kilometres per hour.
Phase II(D) (From 3am to 1.15pm)

1. Eastbound Hoi Bun Road between Cheung Yip Street and Tsun Yip Street;
2. Westbound Hoi Bun Road between Tsun Yip Street and Kai Hing Road;
3. Hung Yip Street;

5. Lai Yip Street between Hoi Bun Road and Wai Yip Street; and
6. How Ming Street between Hoi Bun Road and Wai Yip Street.
B. Traffic diversions
1. Traffic along northbound Cheung Yip Street heading to Kwun Tong area will be diverted to northbound Wang Chiu Road, eastbound Sheung Yee Road, flyover, eastbound Ngau Tau Kok Road, and southbound Elegance Road to Kwun Tong area;
2. Traffic along southbound Wang Chiu Road heading to Kwun Tong area will be diverted to eastbound Sheung Yee Road, flyover, eastbound Ngau Tau Kok Road, and southbound Elegance Road to Kwun Tong area;
3. Traffic along westbound Kei Yip Street heading to northbound Lai Yip Street will be diverted to northbound Tsun Yip Street, westbound How Ming Street, westbound Chong Yip Street, westbound Hung To Road and northbound Lai Yip Street;
4. Traffic along westbound Kei Yip Street heading to Kowloon Bay area will be diverted to northbound Tsun Yip Street, westbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kai Cheung Road and southbound Wang Chiu Road;
5. Traffic along westbound Wai Yip Street heading to Kowloon Bay area via southbound How Ming Street or southbound Lai Yip Street will be diverted to westbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kai Cheung Road and southbound Wang Chiu Road; and
6. Traffic along southbound Lai Yip Street heading to Kowloon Bay area will be diverted to westbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kai Cheung Road and southbound Wang Chiu Road.
Phase III (From 10.30am to 1.15pm)

A. Traffic diversions
1. Lam Chak Street will be converted from one way westbound to one way eastbound;
2. Kai Hing Road will be converted from one way southbound to one way northbound;
3. Traffic along southbound Wang Chiu Road heading to Kai Hing Road will be diverted to southbound Cheung Yip Street, eastbound Lam Chak Street and northbound Kai Hing Road; and
4. Traffic along northbound Cheung Yip Street heading to Kai Hing Road will be diverted to eastbound Lam Chak Street and northbound Kai Hing Road.
Suspension of parking spaces

The following on-street parking spaces will be suspended from 8pm on January 12 to 1.15pm the following day:
1. Goods vehicle parking spaces and disabled parking space at Lam Chak Street;
2. Goods vehicle parking spaces at Kai Hing Road;
3. Goods vehicle parking spaces, metered parking spaces and disabled parking spaces at Hoi Bun Road; and
4. Metered parking spaces and disabled parking spaces at Kai Lok Street.
Nine metered parking spaces at the right-hand side of Ha Heung Road will be suspended from 10pm on January 12 to 12.30pm the following day.
Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precincts mentioned above will be towed away without prior warning.
Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the areas. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
