Fatal traffic accident in Chai Wan

At about 5.12am, a taxi driven by the 55-year-old man was travelling along Island Eastern Corridor westbound. When approaching Oi Tung Estate, the taxi reportedly collided with a private car which stopped at roadside.
The taxi driver was sent to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 6.03am. The 36-year-old female private car driver sustained minor injuries and was sent to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in conscious state.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island is underway.
