Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Tsuen Wan

     Police today (November 29) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Tsuen Wan on June 27 in which a 79-year-old man died.

     At about 7.09am that day, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 64-year-old man was travelling along Yeung Uk Road towards Tuen Mun. When reaching near 45 Yeung Uk Road, it reportedly knocked down the 79-year-old man who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining injuries to his head and leg, the male pedestrian was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious state and certified dead at 9.00pm on the same day.

     The LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in mid-December.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.
