Fatal traffic accident in Tin Sum

At about 7.16pm, a public light bus driven by a 53-year-old man was travelling along Heung Fan Liu Street towards Mei Tin Road. When approaching a pedestrian crossing outside Mei Chuen House, Mei Tin Estate, it reportedly knocked down the 81-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining head injuries, the woman was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 8.13pm.
The 53-year-old public light bus driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.
