New exhibition to showcase achievements of local design master Tommy Li (with photos)

     ​An exhibition entitled "Projects ∙ Objects ∙ Play - Tommy Li P.O.P. Design Show" will be held from tomorrow (June 9) to September 24 at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, revealing renowned local designer Tommy Li's source of inspiration and key to success.
 
     The exhibition will be divided into three zones with different themes, namely "Play", "Objects" and "Projects", presenting Li's perspectives on life, culture, society and design aesthetics. It will also showcase his personal selection of 97 objects that have been most influential in his design career and the cross-disciplinary design works and projects created with his team over the past 30 years, including commercial brand designs, books, periodicals and posters. In the exhibition, visitors will be able to witness Li's journey of more than 35 years in the design industry and his philosophical ideas about the economy, pop culture, art and design. Visitors will also gain a better understanding of how foreign pop culture influenced Hong Kong and its unique culture from the view of Li.
 
     Tommy Li, a renowned Hong Kong graphic designer and brand consultant, has been actively involved in the local design scene and won numerous international and local awards over the years. He graduated from the former Swire School of Design at the Hong Kong Polytechnic in the 1980s and has worked in many culture-related positions since then, such as magazine column writer, disco DJ, and art director for films and a radio station.
