Fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan

At about 5.25am, a private car driven by a 39-year-old man was travelling along northbound Tai Po Road. When approaching near Sheung Li Uk Garden, it reportedly knocked down the 85-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious injuries, the woman was rushed to Caritas Medical Centre in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 5.52am.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
