Fatal traffic accident in Tsing Yi

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsing Yi today (April 29) morning in which a 50-year-old man died.
      
     At about 11.01am, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 50-year-old man was travelling along Tsing Ma Bridge towards Kowloon. When approaching North West Tsing Yi Interchange, it reportedly rammed into the kerbs and barriers. It then lost control and side turned to the right.
 
     The man and a 50-year-old male MGV passenger were trapped inside the vehicle and rescued by fireman. The driver was rushed to Yan Chai Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 12 noon. Sustained injuries on his head, face and chest, the male passenger was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital for medical treatment in conscious state.
      
     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.
