Wise Ride Safe Cycling Carnival 2018 successfully held

The following is issued on behalf of the Road Safety Council:

     The Road Safety Council (RSC) and New Territories South Traffic Headquarters of the Hong Kong Police Force jointly held the Wise Ride Safe Cycling Carnival 2018 this afternoon (April 28) at the Cycling Velodrome in Whitehead, Ma On Shan.

     In addition to a variety of activities, messages on cycling safety were successfully disseminated to the public. The carnival also featured an exhibition of police motorcycles and bicycles, a cycling safety briefing and a cycling safety barriers competition, athletics tests and a sprint competition, an exhibition of uniforms and equipment of the Hong Kong Cycling Team, and a demonstration performance and experience sharing session by the representative of the Hong Kong Cycling Team, Sarah Lee.

     Today's carnival was officiated by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic New Territories South, Mr Michael Armstrong; the Superintendent of Police, Traffic New Territories South, Mr Michael Yip; Sarah Lee and the registered Level 3 coach of the Cycling Association of Hong Kong, China Limited, Ms Joyce Lai.
