The investigation team of the Civil Aviation Department (CAD) today (April 27) released Serious Incident Bulletin 2/2018 in relation to an engine fire incident suffered by the Boeing 747-8KZF freighter (registration mark JA18KZ) operated by Nippon Cargo Airlines Co. Ltd on March 29, 2018, while it was landing at the Hong Kong International Airport.

     A spokesperson for the CAD said that the bulletin contains information relating to the serious incident as determined up to the time of issue, and must be regarded as tentative.

     "The investigation team will continue with the investigation and will conduct more in-depth analysis of the relevant data and information collected in order to determine the circumstances and causes leading to the serious incident," the spokesperson said.
