Hospital Authority announces senior appointment (with photo)

The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson announced the following senior appointment today (April 26).
Dr Theresa Li will be appointed as Cluster Chief Executive (Hong Kong West) and Hospital Chief Executive (HCE) of Queen Mary Hospital and Tsan Yuk Hospital, succeeding Dr Luk Che-chung, who will take up the post of Cluster Chief Executive (Hong Kong East) and HCE of Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital, St John Hospital and Wong Chuk Hang Hospital. Both appointments will commence on October 1.
Dr Li is an anaesthesiologist by background. She is currently the Head of Human Resources at the HA Head Office, a position she has held since February 2014. In her current position, Dr Li has improved the overall governance and management of the training and development function alongside various other staff attraction and retention measures, inter alia, introducing a locum office to facilitate flexible employment; developing a career progression model for supporting staff grades; gauging staff views with a corporation-wide staff survey; and enhancing staff medical benefits such as improving access to private diagnostic imaging services. Dr Li has also led the modernisation of human resources management through the introduction of technology, such as using mobile apps for staff clinic appointments, leave applications, training and development, and staff welfare promulgation.
Dr Li possesses ample management experience both at the corporate and cluster levels. Prior to her current role she served as Cluster Manager (Strategy, Planning and Service Transformation) in Kowloon Central Cluster and as HCE of Shatin Hospital and Bradbury Hospice.
The HA Chairman, Professor John Leong, and the HA Chief Executive, Dr Leung Pak-yin, congratulated Dr Li on her new appointment and wish her every success in taking up the new post.
