North Lantau Highway speed limit to be temporarily reduced from April 10

     The Transport Department announced today (April 6) that the speed limit will be temporarily reduced along the eastbound carriageway of the North Lantau Highway between Airport Road and Tai Ho Wan, and the westbound carriageway of the North Lantau Highway between Tai Ho Wan and Tung Chung, from next Tuesday (April 10) to June 28 to facilitate the construction of the Tuen Mun - Chek Lap Kok Link Southern Connection Viaduct Section.

     Starting from April 10, the speed limit along the eastbound carriageway of the North Lantau Highway from a point about 300 metres east of its junction with Airport Road to about 3 500 metres east of the same junction, and the westbound carriageway of the North Lantau Highway from a point about 3 500 metres east of its junction with Airport Road to about 2 500 metres east of the same junction, will be reduced from 110 kilometres per hour to 80 km/h in order to enhance the safety of road users and workers.

     Appropriate traffic signs will be erected to guide motorists.
