Fatal traffic accident in Tin Sum

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tin Sum this afternoon (April 3) in which a 53-year-old man died.

     At about 3.35pm, a private car driven by a 27-year-old man was travelling along Tai Po Road - Sha Tin Heights towards Sha Tin. When approaching near Tai Po Road Look-out, it reportedly lost control, dashed to the opposite lane and collided with a motorcycle driven by the 53-year-old man.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the motorcyclist was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 4.13pm. The private car driver, sustaining head injuries, was sent to Prince of Wales Hospital in conscious state.

     The private car driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in mid-May.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
