SCS visits Official Receiver's Office (with photos)

     The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Joshua Law, today (March 27) visited the Official Receiver's Office to meet with its management and staff of various grades to get an update on the department's work and challenges confronting them.
      
     Mr Law first met with the Official Receiver, Ms Phyllis McKenna, and the directorate staff to learn more about the department's various statutory duties relating to insolvency.
      
     Mr Law then toured the Case Management Division, where he was briefed by colleagues on the work of insolvency administration, which includes realisation of assets, distribution of dividends, investigation into causes of winding-up and bankruptcy, and monitoring the conduct of private insolvency practitioners.
         
     Mr Law then visited the Legal Services Division to learn about its responsibilities, which include providing legal advice on all aspects of the administration of insolvent estates.
      
     Before concluding his visit, Mr Law met with staff representatives of various grades at a tea gathering to exchange views on matters that concerned them. He encouraged colleagues to continue to provide quality and professional services to the public.
