******************************************
The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, visited Tsuen Wan District today (March 26) to keep abreast of its latest developments.

Accompanied by Chairman of Tsuen Wan District Council, Mr Chung Wai-ping, and the District Officer (Tsuen Wan), Miss Jenny Yip, Mr Cheung visited Tsuen Wan Sports Centre that would soon be completed for public use and toured its facilities including the main arena, children playroom, outdoor climbing site and fitness room.

He was pleased to learn that the Tsuen Wan Sports Centre would become one of the large-scale sports centres in Hong Kong. The Centre occupies about 12 000 square metres of construction floor area including a 1 900-seat main arena with ancillary facilities such as doping control room equipped to host major local, regional and international sports events that most existing local indoor sports centres cannot accommodate. The sports centre also has a secondary hall that can serve as a warm-up area.

Mr Cheung then went to Tsuen Wan Town Hall and was briefed on the future development of Tsuen Wan city centre, including redevelopment of Tsuen Wan Magistrates’ Courts and Princess Alexandra Community Centre.

He also visited the Tsuen King Circuit Market, which would cease operation this month, and was briefed on the feasibility of its future use.

To conclude the visit, Mr Cheung met Tsuen Wan District Council members to listen to their views on various development issues and matters of concern to the local community.
