Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Kwai Chung this afternoon (March 23) in which an 82-year-old woman died.

     At about 2.20pm, a coach driven by a 64-year-old man was travelling along Hing Ning Road towards Container Port Road. When approaching MTR Kwai Fong Station, it reportedly knocked down the 82-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

     The woman was trapped under the coach and was rescued by firemen. Sustaining multiple injuries, she was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 3.08pm.

     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is still being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.
