Secretary for Security visits Tai Po (with photos)

     The Secretary for Security, Mr John Lee, visited Tai Po this afternoon (March 23) to learn about its law and order situation and the livelihood of local people. He also visited a rehabilitation organisation in the district.

     Accompanied by the District Officer (Tai Po), Ms Andy Lui, Mr Lee first visited the New Territories East Social Service Centre of the Society of Rehabilitation and Crime Prevention (SRACP) Hong Kong. After listening to a briefing on the services provided by the Centre, Mr Lee met and chatted with rehabilitated persons there, encouraging them to actively reintegrate into society and establish a positive outlook on life.
 
      The SRACP provides community caring and rehabilitation services through various service units to help people convicted of crimes or released from prisons.
 
     Afterwards, Mr Lee attended a meeting at the District Fight Crime Committee of Tai Po, during which he exchanged views with Committee members on the efforts made in fighting crimes in the district.

      Before concluding his visit, Mr Lee met with members of the Tai Po District Council to discuss various issues relating to people's livelihood and the future development of the district.
