Tenant intake for Yan Tin Estate, Tuen Mun, starts today (with photos)

     The Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) has all along been providing affordable public rental housing (PRH) to low-income families with housing needs. The latest completed project is Yan Tin Estate in northwestern Tuen Mun. Tenant intake starts today (March 23).

     "Yan Tin Estate, which comprises five domestic blocks ranging from 33 to 38 storeys high, will provide 4 688 PRH units for about 13 000 residents," a spokesman for the HA said.

     The five PRH blocks are named as Chun Tin House, Yat Tin House, Hei Tin House, Yuet Tin House and Luk Tin House respectively. Each floor consists of 18 to 30 flats, including1-or-2-person flats, 2-or-3-person flats, 1-bedroom flats and 2-bedroom flats. Rents range from $730 to $1,860.   

     Facilities in the estate include a bicycle park, 122 open and covered parking spaces, a kindergarten, a day care centre for the elderly, badminton courts, children's play area, table tennis tables, basketball courts and jogging trails.
 
     Yan Tin Estate also provides a shopping centre and a market including supermarkets, eateries, convenience stores and other retail outlets. These retail facilities are expected to be available later this year catering to the daily needs of residents.
