Tin Shui Wai Hospital to extend Accident and Emergency services to 12 hours per day

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     Tin Shui Wai Hospital (TSWH) today (March 19) announced that its Accident and Emergency (A&E) services will be extended to 12 hours per day with effect from this Wednesday (March 21) to cater to community needs. The new service hours will be from 8am to 8pm.
 
     The Hospital Chief Executive of TSWH, Dr Deacons Yeung, said, "With the extension of service hours of the TSWH A&E department, emergency medical services for the residents of Tin Shui Wai will be further enhanced. We will closely monitor the operation of the TSWH A&E services. The hospital is now working on the manpower and resources deployment in order to accomplish the goal of introducing 24-hour A&E services in November 2018."
 
     The operation of the TSWH A&E services has been running smoothly since its commencement in March 2017. The department currently provides eight-hour service from 8am to 4pm with an average daily attendance of 170.
 
     TSWH is the fifth hospital of New Territories West Cluster, currently providing A&E, Specialist Outpatient, Renal Dialysis, Allied Health, Diagnostic Radiology, Pharmacy and Community Nursing services.
