Familie Flöz to perform award-winning play "Infinita"
*****************************************************

World-renowned mask theatre company Familie Flöz from Germany will perform the award-winning play "Infinita" in May. The programme won the Audience Award in euro-scene Leipzig, a festival of European theatre and dance, in 2012. It was welcomed with great enthusiasm by the audience and critics at the London International Mime Festival 2016.

"Infinita" is a comedy and physical and visual mosaic about the first and last moments of life. The story begins with a group of three toddlers and ends in a retirement home. It is about a distinctive vitality, as the old men in the retirement home continue in the spirit of playfulness that defined their youth. Four fabulously masked characters star without speaking, while crafty shadows and enchanting music create a sense of transience, of being born and of growing old, and a vigorous succession of scenes reflect the inevitable fate of the human being.

Familie Flöz was established in Essen, Germany, in 1994 and has been based in Berlin since 2001. It is an international pool of theatre makers, actors, musicians, dancers, directors, dramatic advisors and designers of masks, lighting, sets and costumes from different nations. Each play is developed in a collective work process through constant rediscovery of disciplines such as mask theatre, dance, clownery, acrobatics, improvisation, mime and physical comedy. The group's works, without spoken word, are performed through movement, images and music. The group has toured with different productions to 34 countries over the past 20 years, including the spectacular sold-out run of "Teatro Delusio" that premiered in Hong Kong in 2006, giving Familie Flöz an international reputation for its unique poetic and comic ensemble work.
