Hunan Liaison Unit hosts forum and spring reception in Changsha (with photos)

     The Hunan Liaison Unit (HNLU) of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Wuhan (WHETO) and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office (HKMAO) in Hunan jointly held the 2018 Forum Between the Hunan Provincial Government and Representatives of Hong Kong Enterprises today (March 15) in Changsha. The event was held to offer an opportunity for Hong Kong enterprises in Hunan and government departments to communicate directly, to discuss issues relating to the business environment in Hunan, and to find new development opportunities.
 
     The Director of the WHETO, Mr Vincent Fung; the Vice Governor of Hunan Province, Mr Chen Fei; the Deputy Secretary-General of Hunan Province, Mr Yi Jialiang; and the Vice Mayor of Changsha Municipality, Mr Fu Shenghua, attended the forum along with more than 20 representatives from various provincial or municipal departments including the Development and Reform Commission of Hunan Province, the Education Department of Hunan Province, the Science and Technology Department of Hunan Province, the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province, the Hunan Local Taxation Bureau, the Hunan Province Administration for Industry and Commerce, Changsha Customs and the HKMAO in Changsha.
 
     Held for the second consecutive year, the Forum saw 24 representatives from Hong Kong-funded enterprises and relevant organisations attend and exchange views on the above topics with various government departments.
 
     On the same night, the HNLU, the HKMAO in Hunan and the Changsha Municipal Government jointly held the 2018 Spring Reception for Hong Kong Residents in Hunan Province to celebrate the Chinese New Year with over 300 Hong Kong people working, living and studying in Hunan. The Hong Kong Wine Chamber of Commerce was also invited to promote the wine industry in Hong Kong and Hong Kong as Asia’s wine hub.
 
     During the Reception, Mr Fung spoke with representatives of the provincial government of Hunan. He also talked with Hong Kong people who live, study and operate businesses in the province to know more about their experiences there.
