Appointments to Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food
     The Secretary for Food and Health has re-appointed Mr Bernard Charnwut Chan and Dr Mak Sin-ping as the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food respectively.

     Moreover, two new members have been appointed and 10 incumbent members have been re-appointed to the Committee.

     All the appointments will take effect from March 15, 2018 to March 14, 2021.

     "The Committee has been providing invaluable and practical advice to the Food and Health Bureau on initiatives to reduce salt and sugar intake of the general public and I look forward to receiving advice from them in the future," the Secretary for Food and Health, Professor Sophia Chan, said.

     Professor Chan also expressed gratitude to the outgoing members, namely Mr Alfred KT Cheung, Mr Langton Cheung Yung-pong, Professor Annisa Lee Lai Chun-hing, Dr Lau Suet-ting, Mr Lee Yuen-hong, Ms Jo Ngai Yee-shan, Dr Grace Poon Wing-kit, Mr Raymond Tong Kwok-kong, Dr Jimmy Wong Chi-ho and Mr Kelvin Yau, for their invaluable contribution to the Committee.

     The Committee was established in March 2015 to give advice on priority areas for reduction of salt and sugar in food, and help formulate and oversee the implementation of initiatives on salt and sugar reduction.
