Labour Department to hold occupational health public talks

     To raise office workers' awareness of musculoskeletal disorders of back and upper limbs arising from prolonged repetitive movements or improper sitting postures, the Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "Prevention of musculoskeletal disorders" on March 19 (Monday). The talk will explain the causes of and preventive measures for musculoskeletal disorders among office workers.

     The talk will be held at 6.30pm in Activity Room 1 of Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay. Given by the LD's occupational health nurse and occupational hygienist, the talk will include demonstrations and practice of workplace exercise.

     The LD will hold another talk entitled "Prevention of lower limb disorders" on March 21 (Wednesday). The talk will introduce symptoms of some common lower limb disorders such as plantar fasciitis, varicose vein and knee osteoarthritis, as well as their treatment and preventive measures.

     The talk will be held at 2.30pm at the lecture room of Fanling Occupational Health Clinic (7/F, Fanling Health Centre, 2 Pik Fung Road, Fanling), during which occupational health nurse from the LD will lead demonstrations and practice of workplace exercise.
