Special traffic arrangements on Hong Kong Island

     Police will implement the following special traffic arrangements on Sunday (March 4) to facilitate four public events to be held on Hong Kong Island.

(I)

     The following traffic arrangements will be implemented from 1.15am to 2pm:

Road closure
------------

- Edinburgh Place east and north of City Hall, except for vehicles leaving City Hall car park;
- Lung Wo Road, except the slow lane of westbound Lung Wo Road between Tim Wa Avenue and Edinburgh Place;
- Yiu Sing Street;
- The western general pick-up/drop-off and loading/unloading area on Lung Wo Road north of Star Ferry Multi-Storey Car Park;
- Part of the slow lane of southbound Lung Wui Road near Yiu Sing Street; and
- Part of the slow lane of eastbound Lung Wui Road near Lung Wo Road.

Traffic diversions
------------------

- Traffic along southbound Man Yiu Street cannot turn left to eastbound Lung Wo Road;
- Traffic along southbound Man Yiu Street cannot turn left to eastbound Yiu Sing Street;
- Traffic along eastbound Man Cheung Street cannot enter eastbound Lung Wo Road and will be diverted via Man Yiu Street;
- Traffic along eastbound Man Po Street cannot enter eastbound Yiu Sing Street and will be diverted via Man Yiu Street;
- Traffic along Edinburgh Place east of City Hall cannot enter westbound Lung Wo Road;
- Traffic along northbound Legislative Council Road cannot turn left to westbound Lung Wo Road and will be diverted via southbound Legislative Council Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Lung Wui Road cannot enter westbound Lung Wo Road; and
- Traffic along westbound Fenwick Pier Street cannot enter westbound Lung Wo Road.

Suspension of parking spaces
----------------------------

     All motorcycle parking spaces at the western general pick-up/drop-off and loading/unloading area on Lung Wo Road north of Star Ferry Multi-Storey Car Park will be suspended.

(II)

     The following roads will be intermittently closed from 10.30am, until the crowd is dispersed and traffic resumes normal:

- Westbound Hennessy Road between Luard Road and Queensway;
- Westbound Queensway; and
- Upper Albert Road between Government House and Consulate General of the United States of America.

     All parking meters on Upper Albert Road between Government House and Consulate General of the United States of America will be suspended from 9am to 2pm.

(III)

     The following roads will be intermittently closed from 2.30pm, until the crowd is dispersed and traffic resumes normal:

- Eastbound Yee Wo Street;
- Causeway Road;
- Westbound Leighton Road;
- Keswick Street;
- Northbound Pennington Street;
- Westbound Jardine's Bazaar; and
- Westbound Kai Chiu Road.

(IV)

     The following roads will be intermittently closed from 3.30pm, until the crowd is dispersed and traffic resumes normal:

- Eastbound Yee Wo Street;
- Causeway Road;
- Westbound Leighton Road; and
- Keswick Street.

     Vehicles may not be permitted to access or leave car parks along the closed roads during the road closure period.

     All vehicles parked illegally will be towed away without prior notice.

     Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
