Fatal traffic accident in Sha Tau Kok

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sha Tau Kok in the small hours today (February 18) in which a 37-year-old man died.

     At about 0.59am, a private car driven by the 37-year-old man was travelling along Bride’s Pool Road towards Tai Po. When approaching near Kai Kuk Shue Ha, it reportedly dashed to the opposite lane, rammed into an electric box and iron pole, and caught fire.

     Firemen put out the fire and found the dead body of the 37-year-old driver in the car.

     A 49-year-old male passenger sustained injury on chest and attended the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for medical treatment himself. He was later transferred to Prince of Wales Hospital in conscious state.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
