Fatal traffic accident in Aberdeen

About 10.10am, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 63-year-old man was travelling along Aberdeen Main Road towards Wong Chuk Hang. When reaching the junction of Aberdeen Main Road and Tung Sing Road, it reportedly knocked down the 84-year-old woman who was crossing the road and dragged her for some distance afterwards. After the accident, the MGV left the scene.
Sustaining multiple serious injuries, the woman was certified dead at scene.
The MGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is being detained for enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island is underway.
