Fatal traffic accident in Ngau Tau Kok

At about 0.10am today, a private car driven by a 24-year-old man was travelling along Kai Fuk Road towards Hung Hom. When approaching the junction with Kai Cheung Road, it reportedly knocked down an 83-year-old man who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious injuries to his head and body, the man was rushed to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 0.53am.
The private car driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is being detained for enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is underway.
