The following is issued on behalf of the Office of The Ombudsman:

     The Ombudsman, Ms Connie Lau, held a press conference this morning (February 1) to announce the results of two direct investigations, namely "The Mechanism of the Food and Health Bureau and the Department of Health for Handling Smoking Offences" and "Government's Control over Fly-tipping of Construction Waste and Landfilling Activities on Private Land". The press conference also covered a brief report on the work of the Office of The Ombudsman in 2017. The reports are available on the Office's website: ofomb.ombudsman.hk/abc/en-us/news.
