Nominations open for Best Landscape Award for Private Property Development 2018

     To promote greening, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is holding the Best Landscape Award for Private Property Development 2018 to commend private property developments that excel in landscape design and horticultural maintenance. Free nominations are open until April 19.
 
     The award aims to bring about sustained environmental improvements in private property developments and encourage private bodies to incorporate more quality green elements into the planning and management of horticultural projects for the benefit of such developments.
 
     The entry must be situated within Hong Kong and be managed, designed or built by a private body. Any private developer or private body may nominate entries for the award. The landscaped green areas of the entry must be for communal use and accessible to the public or residents.
 
     The soft landscape design and horticultural maintenance award is presented in five categories. Details are as follows:
 
Domestic property:
 
(1) Large-scale domestic property (at least five domestic buildings and with more than 1 500 domestic units)
(2) Medium-scale domestic property (two to four domestic buildings and with no more than 1 500 domestic units, or with 401 to 1 500 domestic units)
(3) Small-scale domestic property (single building or with no more than 400 domestic units)
 
Non-domestic property (such as shopping malls, commercial buildings, schools under the Direct Subsidy Scheme (private premises) and private schools):
 
(4) Large-scale non-domestic property (with a gross floor area of 20 000 square metres or above)
(5) Small-scale non-domestic property (with a gross floor area under 20 000 square metres)
 
     Each category is divided into three groups according to the age of the property.
 
i) Properties below six years of age
ii) Properties between six and below 21 years of age
iii) Properties 21 years of age or above
 
     Completed nomination forms together with all necessary documents must reach the Secretariat of the Best Landscape Award for Private Property Development 2018 (11/F, Leisure and Cultural Services Headquarters, 1-3 Pai Tau Street, Sha Tin) on or before April 19 (in person: no later than 5pm; by mail: by date of stamp chop).
 
     The prospectus and nomination forms are available at the following locations:
 
(1) The Secretariat of the Best Landscape Award for Private Property Development 2018;
(2) Green Education and Resource Centre (1/F, Kowloon Park Management Office, 22 Austin Road, Tsim Sha Tsui);
(3) All District Leisure Services Offices of the LCSD;
(4) All Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of the Home Affairs Department (HAD); or
(5) Downloaded from the LCSD webpage at

     The award is organised by the LCSD and co-organised by the HAD, the Hong Kong Institute of Architects, the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects, the Institute of Horticulture (Hong Kong), the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, the Professional Green Building Council and the Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies.
