Twenty building plans approved in November

     The Buildings Department approved 20 building plans in November, with six on Hong Kong Island, seven in Kowloon and seven in the New Territories.

      Of the approved plans, 11 were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, three were for commercial developments, two were for factory and industrial developments and four were for community services developments.

      In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 10 building projects that, when completed, will provide 19 981 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use involving 644 units, and 117 474 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 11 building projects.

      The department also issued 15 occupation permits, with five on Hong Kong Island, three in Kowloon and seven in the New Territories.

      Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 19 925 sq m involving 476 units, and 67 053 sq m was for non-domestic use.

      The declared cost of new buildings completed in November totalled about $4.1 billion.

      In addition, 13 demolition consents involving 13 building structures were issued.

      The department received 2 738 reports about unauthorised building works in November and issued 1 296 removal orders on unauthorised items.
