Draft Kwai Chung Outline Zoning Plan amended

The amendments mainly involve the rezoning of an area at San Kwai Street from "Government, Institution or Community" and "Village Type Development" to "Residential (Group A)2" for the proposed public housing development. The Notes of the OZP are also amended, with the inclusion of "Art Studio (excluding those involving direct provision of services or goods)" as a Column 1 use under the "Industrial" ("I") zone and in Schedule II for industrial or industrial-office building of "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Business" and "Residential (Group E)" zones, corresponding amendment to the "Place of Recreation, Sports or Culture” use of the zones, and updating of the planning intention of the "I" zone. Opportunity is also taken to amend the Explanatory Statement to reflect the above amendments and to update the general information of various land use zones.
The draft Kwai Chung OZP No. S/KC/29, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters of the Planning Department in North Point and Sha Tin, the Tsuen Wan and West Kowloon District Planning Office and the Kwai Tsing District Office.
Any person may make written representation in respect of the amendments to the Secretary of the Board on or before March 19. Representations made to the Town Planning Board will be available for public inspection.
Copies of the draft Kwai Chung OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the OZP can be viewed at the Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).
