Appointments to Financial Services Development Council

     The Government announced today (January 17) the appointment of five new members to the Financial Services Development Council (FSDC) for a term of one year from January 17, 2018 to January 16, 2019.

     The Chief Executive has appointed the following five new members to the FSDC, who will also serve in the committees under the FSDC:
 
Mr Henry Fan Hung-ling
Mr Glenn Fok
Dr Hu Zhang Hong
Dr Ma Jun
Mr Stephen Wong Yuen-shan
 
     Announcing the appointments, the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr James Lau, said, "The new members possess substantive experience and expertise in the financial services industry. We look forward to their contribution to the work of the FSDC in conducting strategic studies, providing advice, fostering market development and nurturing talent."

     The FSDC was established in 2013 by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government as a high-level, cross-sectoral advisory body to engage the industry in formulating proposals to promote the further development of Hong Kong's financial services industry and to map out the strategic direction for development. The FSDC has set up five committees, namely the Policy Research Committee; the Mainland Opportunities Committee; the New Business Committee; the Market Development Committee and the Human Capital Committee.

     The membership list of the FSDC and its five committees starting from January 17, 2018, is in the Annex.
